Information You Provide
A name, phone number, or address entered in a search form is sent to the third-party results provider. Our servers do not retain a copy of those searches. If you contact us, we receive the information in your message and use it to respond.
Automatic Technical Data
Routine hosting logs may include an IP address, browser type, viewed pages, and timestamps. We review aggregate patterns to maintain the reference and understand general use. Cookies or comparable technology may support basic analytics and, where applicable, advertising measurement.
How Information Is Used
Information supports operation, troubleshooting, aggregate traffic measurement, and improvements to the reference. We do not sell lists of visitors or create individual visitor profiles.
External Services
Links may lead to Fairfax County and Virginia record portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search tools. Each service controls the information submitted to it under its own policy. That includes sponsored search results supplied by a third party.
Who Might See Your Data
The service providers that host and support the site process server logs for us. Analytics and advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. We disclose data when a valid legal process requires it, and not otherwise.
How We Protect Your Data
The site runs over an encrypted connection and logs are kept only as long as the purposes above need them. There are no accounts here, so no password or profile of yours exists on this site to be exposed.
Users Under 18
The site is meant for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your Privacy Choices
Virginia's Consumer Data Protection Act, Va. Code ยงยง59.1-571 et seq., provides access, correction, deletion, portability, and opt-out rights for consumers of covered businesses, subject to its terms. Because this reference keeps very little, a request normally involves the contact mailbox and available server logs. Use the Contact page to ask. Herndon, Fairfax County, and Virginia public records are controlled by their custodians, so a correction or removal request for one belongs with that office.
Policy Changes
Changes to this policy will appear here. Continued use after a revision means you accept the revised policy.
